Amesema askari walifika eneo la tukio na kuchukua mwili wa mtoto na kuurejesha Hospitali ya Rufaa ya Mkoa wa Geita, ambapo mwili huo ulitambuliwa na madaktari na kuthibitisha mtoto alikuwa amefariki.
Amemtaja mama wa mtoto ni Emanuelina Merikioli, ambaye alikuwa amekabidhiwa mwili huo kwa ajili ya taratibu za mazishi ambaye naye alikabidhi mwili kwa mtu anayetajwa kuwa baba wa mtoto.
Shuhuda wa tukio, Baraka Mathayo amesema alimuona mwanaume huyo akitupa boksi lenye kanga na kisha kukimbia na alipofika kutazama kilichotupwa alishangazwa kuona kilichomo ni mtoto.
