Ujenzi wa ukumbi ustawi utagharimu milioni 626
DAR ES SALAAM: CHUO cha Ustawi wa Jamii kimeahidi kwamba ujenzi wa ukumbi wa mihadhara katika kampasi yake ya Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam, utakamilika kwa wakati kama ilivyopangwa, licha ya changamoto za kifedha.
Akizungumza mbele ya Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Ustawi na Maendeleo ya Jamii, Mkuu wa Chuo hicho, Dk. Joyce Nyoni, alisema wanajitahidi kukamilisha mradi huo ifikapo Juni mwaka huu, huku wakikabiliwa na changamoto za mtiririko wa fedha.
Ujenzi wa ukumbi huo unaofadhiliwa kwa mapato ya ndani ya chuo, umegharimu kiasi cha Sh. Milioni 626,405,367. Mradi huo ulianza Julai mwaka jana, na ukumbi huo unatarajiwa kuchukua wanafunzi 400. Meneja wa mradi huo ni wataalamu wa ndani ya chuo, huku fundi kutoka Chuo cha Teknolojia Dar es Salaam (DIT) akichangia katika utekelezaji wa kazi.
Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Ustawi na Maendeleo ya Jamii, Fatma Taufiq, aliipongeza chuo kwa jitihada za kuboresha miundombinu ya elimu, na kusema kwamba kamati yake itawasilisha taarifa hiyo bungeni kwa hatua zaidi.
Ziara hiyo ya kamati iliongozwa na Fatma Taufiq na ilihudhuriwa pia na Naibu Waziri wa Maendeleo ya Jamii, Jinsia, Wanawake na Makundi Maalum, Mwanaid Ali Khamis.
