Hali hiyo imejitokeza baada ya Kamati hiyo ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Afya na Masuala ya Ukimwi kutembelea mgodi wa Bulyanhulu uliopo wilaya ya Kahama mkoani Shinyanya kujionea utekelezaji wa sera ya afya na udhibiti wa ukimwi mgodini hapo.
Mwenyekiti wa Chama cha Wafanyakazi wa migodi, nishati, ujenzi na kazi nyinginezo (TAMICO) tawi la mgodini hapo Yohana Magembe ndiye aliyetoa rai hiyo wakati akijibu hoja mbele ya wajumbe wa Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Afya na masuala ya Ukimwi waliotaka kujua ikiwa wafanyakazi wanapata huduma stahiki za afya.
“Zahanati yetu ina huduma nzuri, endapo wabunge na serikali mtaridhia kuipandisha hadhi huenda wafanyakazi wa mgodi wa Bulyanhulu hatutalazimika kupata rufaa kwenda hospitali kubwa kama vile Bugando”anasema.
Akifanya majumuisho ya ziara hiyo Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Afya na masuala ya Ukimwi Mh. Hassan Mtenga amesifu mazingira safi na salama ya zahanati ya mgodi wa Bulyanhulu akisema yanafanana na hotel yenye hadhi.
“Mazingira ya zahanati yenu ni mazuri sana, ni kama vile umeingia kwenye hotel. Mgonjwa akifikishwa tu hapo anapata nafuu hata kabla ya kupatiwa matibabu”anasema Mh. Mtenga ambaye pia ni mbunge wa Mtwara Mjini.
Anasema, kamati yake imeridhishwa na mipango mizuri iliyowekwa na mgodi wa Bulyanhulu katika kuhakikisha wafanyakazi wanakuwa salama kiafya na hata kujikinga na maambukizo ya virusi vya ukimwi.
“Tumeridhika, kama kamati hatukuwahi kupita kwenye mgodi wa Bulyanhulu, lakini tumefurahi sana. Tunaipongeza serikali kwa mgodi huu, kuna mambo mazuri sana yanaendelea hapa”anasisitiza.
Anaongeza kwamba mbali na mikakati mizuri ya kiafya, takribani asilimia 97 ya wafanyakazi katika mgodi wa Bulyanhulu ni watanzania, jambo ambalo linapaswa kupongezwa.
Akizungumzia kiwango cha maambukizo ya virusi ya ukimwi katika mgodi wa Bulyanhulu, mganga mfawidhi wa zahanati ya mgodi huo Dk. Nolask Kigodi anasema kwamba kipo chini kwani kwa miaka miwili iliyopita walipatikana wafanyakazi wawili tu waliokutwa na VVU.

Naibu Waziri wa Madini Dk. Steven Kiruswa ambaye aliambatana na Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Afya na masuala ya Ukimwi anasema kwamba serikali kwa upande wake inalichukulia kwa uzito suala la kudhibiti maambukizo ya virusi vya ukimwi maeneo ya migodini.
