Maziwa yakoleza sumu kwenye viuatilifu-Utafiti
WAKULIMA wametakiwa kutotumia maziwa kama huduma ya kwanza wanapoathiriwa na viuatilifu wakati wa kuvitumia katika mazao shambani au nyumbani.
Angalizo hilo linatokana na kile kilichoelezwa kuwa maziwa yanaipa nguvu sumu hiyo kushambulia seli za mwili wa mwanadamu. Mtafiti kutoka Mamlaka ya Afya ya Mimea na Viuatilifu nchini Tanzania (TPHPA), Dk Jones Kapeleka alisema viuatilifu vinapenda kusafiri katika sehemu zenye mafuta kwenye mwili wa mwanadamu.
Kwa kuwa maziwa yana mafuta, inakuwa rahisi kwa viuatilifu kushambulia seli za mwili kupitia katika mafuta kwenda kwenye damu. Alitoa onyo hilo hivi karibuni alipowasilisha matokeo ya utafiti wa athari za matumizi holela ya viuatilifu katika mbogamboga na matunda.
Aliyawasilisha kwenye warsha iliyoandaliwa na Mtandao wa Vikundi vya Wakulima na Wafugaji Mkoa wa Arusha (MVIWAARUSHA), IDP na GAIN kuhusu Mifumo Endelevu ya Chakula kuanzia shambani hadi chakula kinafika mezani.
Dk Kapeleka alisema wakulima wanapoathiriwa na sumu hiyo, kitu cha kwanza wanatakiwa kuwekwa katika sehemu ya wazi yenye upepo wa kutosha kisha kuchukua mkaa na kuusaga na kuuchanganya na maji na kumpa mwathiriwa anywe huku taratibu za kumpeleka hospitali zikiendelea.
“Madhara ya viuatilifu yanatofautiana, kuna ya papo kwa hapo halafu kuna madhara ya muda mrefu, madhara ya papo kwa hapo anayopata mkulima kwanza anatakiwa kuondoka katika mazingira ya viuatilifu, kama amemwagikiwa anapaswa kuoga kwa maji yanayotiririka muda huo huo,” alisema.
Alisema ikiwa mkulima ameathiriwa na kiuatilifu kupitia mdomoni au katika mfumo wa hewa, kitu cha kwanza anatakiwa kuchukuliwa haraka na kuwekwa katika sehemu ya wazi yenye upepo wa kutosha na kunyweshwa mkaa uliopondwapondwa na kukorogwa na maji.
Wakati hayo yakiendelea, utaratibu wa kumpeleka hospitali ufanyike huku chombo cha kiuatilifu kilichomdhuru kikipelekwa pia kwa daktari ili kumfanya atambue aina ya kiuatilifu na matibabu stahiki kwa haraka.
“Sumu za viuatilifu haziondolewi kwa kunywa maziwa kama ilivyozoeleka kwa mtu aliyeathiriwa na dawa, mwathiriwa anatakiwa akorogewe mkaa na apewe anywe lakini si maziwa,” aliongeza.
Alisema kwa watu wanaotumia viuatilifu katika sehemu mbalimbali wanapomaliza kunyunyiza hata kama hawakuathiriwa, wasipendelee kunywa maziwa badala yake wanywe maji kwa sababu ikiwa kuna kiuatilifu kilichojipenyeza mdomoni maziwa yatahatarisha maisha yake.
