Samia ang’ara afya ya Mama na Mtoto
UMOJA wa Afrika (AU) imemthibitisha Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, kuwa Kinara wa Afya ya Mama na Mtoto barani Afrika, kufuatia mafanikio makubwa ya kupunguza vifo vya kina mama na watoto kwa takribani asilimia 80.
Wakizungumza na wanahabari Ikulu jijini Dar es Salaam, Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, pamoja na Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Afya, Dk Seif Shekalaghe, wamesema mwaka 2016 kiwango cha vifo vya kina mama kilikuwa 556 kwa kila vizazi hai 100,000, lakini kufikia mwaka 2022 kimepungua hadi 104 kwa kila vizazi hai 100,000.
Mafanikio hayo yamechangiwa na kuimarishwa kwa huduma za msingi za afya, upatikanaji wa dawa na vifaa tiba, pamoja na ongezeko la bajeti ya sekta ya afya.Utambuzi huo ni matokeo ya mageuzi ya kimkakati katika sekta ya afya yaliyowekwa na kusimamiwa chini ya uongozi wake, yakilenga kuboresha huduma za uzazi, upatikanaji wa wataalamu na miundombinu ya tiba nchini. As we stand at the cusp of a new era in the agricultural sector, it is imperative that we have a clear roadmap to guide us towards sustainable and inclusive growth in this vital sector. The Agricultural Master Plan outlined in this document is the culmination of extensive research, consultation, and collaboration with stakeholders from across the industry.
The Agricultural Master Plan is a key pillar that will provide a clear path towards Tanzania becoming a higher middle-income country by 2050. This ambition will be fueled by expansion of land under irrigation, improved inputs use, mechanization of farm activities, improved access to extensionservic es, and reduction of post-harvest losses. Furthermore, it will improve access to local and international market, enhance research and development, promote adoption of innovation and technology and implementation of policy and regulatory reforms to facilitate trade and value addition, as well as increase youth and women employment in agriculture.
