DAR ES SALAAM: ZAIDI ya watu 2,000 wanatarajiwa kushiriki mbio za Dar Night Run 2026 zilizoandaliwa na The Runners Club zitakazofanyika Agosti 29, mwaka huu katika Viwanja vya Police Officers Mess, Dar es Salaam.
Makamu Mwenyekiti wa Dar Night Run, Godfrey Mwangungulu, amesema maandalizi ya mbio hizo kwa msimu wa tisa yamekamilika na amewataka wananchi kujitokeza kwa wingi kushiriki.
Mwangunguru aliyasema hayo leo Agosti 21, 2026, wakati akizungumza na waandishi wa habari jijini Dar es Salaam, akieleza kuwa mbio hizo si kwa ajili ya kuimarisha afya pekee, bali pia zitatoa fursa kwa washiriki kupata burudani na kubadilishana mawazo.
Amesema Dar Night Run imekuwa tofauti na mbio nyingine kutokana na kufanyika nyakati za usiku, jambo linalowapa washiriki uzoefu wa kipekee wa kushiriki mbio katika mazingira tofauti.
Aliwahimiza wakimbiaji, wapenzi wa michezo na burudani kujitokeza kwa wingi kushiriki katika msimu huo wa tisa.
“Msimu uliopita tulikuwa na takribani washiriki 1,500, hivyo mwaka huu tunalenga kupata washiriki 2,000 au zaidi kutokana na hamasa kubwa iliyopo miongoni mwa washiriki pamoja na wadhamini,” amesema.
Kwa upande wake, Katibu Mkuu wa Chama cha Riadha Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam, Felix Chunga, amesema chama hicho, kwa kushirikiana na Shirikisho la Tanzania Athletics, kitahakikisha mbio hizo zinasimamiwa kwa kuzingatia viwango na kanuni za kimataifa za riadha.
Dar Night Run 2026 imepata udhamini kutoka kwa Castle Lite, American Clinic Tanzania, Ifakara Health Institute, Skechers, Owolovo na Yas.
