MKUU wa Mkoa wa Kagera, Albert Chalamila amewataka wananchi wa Kijiji cha Rubafu, Wilaya ya Bukoba kutumia fursa ya ujenzi wa kituo cha utafiti cha ufugaji wa samaki na vizimba vya kufugia samaki kuinua uchumi wao.
Akizungumza na wananchi mara baada ya kutembelea na kukagua eneo hilo, amewashukuru wananchi hao kwa kutambua, kuthamini mradi huo na kutoa eneo, ili mradi uweze kujengwa huku akiwataka pindi utakapoanza wachangamkie fursa zitakazokuwepo katika mradi huo.
“Tunamshukuru sana Rais Dk Samia Suluhu Hassan, wakati mipango hii ikiwepo hapa tulikuwa bado hatujapata njia nzuri tunavyoweza kwenda mbele.
“Alipofanya ziara yake nchini Marekani na baadhi ya wafanyabiashara na wakuu wa mashirika kadhaa, moja ya kitu ambacho ziara ile ilizaa matunda yalijitokeza umoja wa makampuni 12, ambayo yamekubali kuja kuwekeza kwenye mradi huu wa Rubafu,” alisema Chalamila.
Alisema kukubali kwa kampuni hizo ndio faida kubwa ya ziara ya Rais iliyozaa matunda kwa wananchi wa Rubafu na wananchi wa Mkoa wa Kagera kwa ujumla.
Katibu Tawala Mkoa wa Kagera, Toba Nguvila alisema anaamini hali ya uchumi wa wananchi itakua endapo watawekeza katika eneo hilo la ufugaji wa samaki kwa vizimba.
“Tunajua kuwa wananchi wengi eneo hili mko karibu na ziwa, lakini sasa tunaenda kuleta kitu kipya cha kuwaletea maendeleo kwa urahisi, kama mwananchi unapaswa kushiriki kwa nafasi ambayo utaona unaweza kufanya usikubali kubaki nyuma, “alisema Nguvilla.
Kwa upande wake Kaimu Katibu Tawala Msaidizi Uchumi na Uzalishaji, Issaya Tendega alisema mradi huu umekuja kufuatia makubaliano baina ya ofisi ya Mkuu wa Mkoa, Wizara ya Uvuvi, Chuo cha Nelson Mandela pamoja na Taasisi ya TACT kuingia makubaliano mwaka 2021.
Alisema Kitakachofanyika ni kujengwa kituo cha umahiri cha utafiti wa ufugaji wa samaki cha uzalishaji wa mbegu bora na vyakula vya samaki, ambacho kitakuwa chini ya chuo cha Nelson Mandela.
